Nothing Special (Sally) - July 7th

Woke early and was up and at ‘em by 7:00

Went to fetch croissants and bread. THAT corner got me again.

Finished off sanding the lounge/diner and then cleaned the walls and woodwork ready for painting. Climbing onto the steps and I heard a tear. My boiler suit decided to rip and now beyond repair. A trendy couture house would probably charge a stupid price for such a monstrosity. I then put  underwear, ah, I was already wearing some, I mean I put an undercoat on the woodwork and Andy started to paint the walls,

It is a wonderful feeling when you have completed a good days work and you then have a shower. We are lucky to be able to have access to hot/cold running water. As Andy would say “count your blessings”. Some people don’t. We do have a river nearby, but I wouldn’t like to bathe in it, nor do the washing and lug the wet laundry back up the hill.

Yesterday’s chicken made a nice pasta dish. Followed by peaches for pudding. Luckily the French grow a nice peach.

I keep saying NICE. Stop it, NOW!

After dinner we then went for an evening walk along the river, finishing up at the local bar for a couple of drinks. NOT a cheeky drink in sight.
