First Full Day (Sally) - 30 June
Got up quite early - 7ish. Had a shower, a quick swallow
of juice and then off to the boulangerie for a croissant and a small baguette.
Back to the house for croissant, coffee and more orange
juice.
I then set off to the local supermarket on my new e-bike.
About two kilometers away. I tried to use the power assist only when going uphill!
The Tour de France needn’t worry. I bought fruit, veg, chicken, ham, some
wonderful Brie de Meaux, fromage St Felicienne (Andy’s favourite) and a pair of
short pyjamas, at least I think they are for nightwear.
Back home, another coffee and then down to work.
I finished sanding the skirting boards in the
lounge/diner. Then I scrubbed the walls and cleaned the skirting boards. Whilst
doing this I cooked the chicken ready for dinner.
Lunch time, bread and cheese.
More cleaning of walls.
I noticed that the French doors in Serena’s room let in a
lot of light, so decided to make something to block it.
Time for a shower and then a nice chicken salad.
Skyped Andy and then went for a walk around the village.
I picked up a few leaflets of forthcoming events.
I heard some music and did a little jig. As they say
“dance like no one is watching”. A young couple saw me and seemed to like it!
Home to speak to Andy again.
I had a bottle of biere rouge. Shut up the house and so to
bed. This time I decided to sleep on the ground floor - much better.
